Tohono O'odham's Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks Project Advances, Driving Economic Growth

The Tohono O'odham Gaming Enterprise has shared an update on the construction progress of its ambitious $450 million Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks project, located at the intersection of Loop 303 and Northern Parkway in Glendale, Arizona. The sprawling entertainment complex, set to open its doors by the end of 2024, is poised to become a driving force for economic growth and a premier destination for entertainment in the region.

During a recent media tour of the construction site, the Enterprise showcased the significant headway made on the project, confirming that the development remains on track with its aggressive 19-month construction schedule. Once completed, the Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks facility will offer a wide array of amenities designed to cater to the diverse tastes of its patrons.

Gaming enthusiasts can look forward to 900 state-of-the-art Class III slot machines, a dedicated poker room, a sportsbook, and an assortment of classic table games, including blackjack, craps, roulette, and baccarat. The complex will also feature multiple dining options, such as the renowned Morton's Steakhouse, ensuring that guests have a variety of culinary experiences to choose from.

Future phases of construction will see the expansion of the Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks complex to include a hotel, conference center, and additional recreational facilities, further solidifying its position as a comprehensive entertainment destination.

Mike Bean, CEO of the Tohono O'odham Gaming Enterprise, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks at San Lucy will be a beautiful, upscale facility that will be an entertainment mecca and economic engine for the fastest-growing region in the Valley. Our construction team is doing an incredible job keeping us moving forward on an aggressive timescale. We are excited to create more opportunities for the Tohono O'odham Nation and the West Valley."

The construction effort has already generated 5,500 jobs, providing a significant boost to the local economy. Upon completion, the casino is expected to employ over 1,000 team members, further contributing to the region's economic growth and development.

Situated on 80 acres of reservation land west of Glendale, Arizona, the Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks project represents a substantial investment in the area's development. The Tohono O'odham Gaming Enterprise broke ground on the complex in April 2023, and despite the challenges posed by the project's scale and complexity, the Hunt/Penta Joint Venture, serving as the general contractor, has managed to keep the development on track.

As construction on the Desert Diamond Casino White Tanks project progresses, the Tohono O'odham Gaming Enterprise remains committed to delivering a world-class entertainment destination that will drive economic growth, create employment opportunities, and provide an unparalleled gaming and dining experience for visitors from across the region.
